| ‘Supernatural’ Video: Sam Suffers From Demon Blood Withdrawal |
|
Last week on Supernatural, Dean and Bobby felt forced to act after watching Sam lose control for demon blood. They lured Sam into the cellar under the false pretense that they all had to prepare for the end of the world, then they locked the door. Like any true intervention it was tough to watch. No matter what the good reason, like any true intervention Dean had to betray the confidence of his brother, humiliate him in front of someone else, and impose his will onto another adult in a strong and serious way. That’s not to say it wasn’t absolutely the right thing to do but for a righteous cause it sure looked and felt like kidnapping. This week it gets even rougher for Sam. In a new clip from “When the Levee Breaks” released today by The CW, Sam begins to panic in his makeshift-cage when he feels something coming. He screams for help but nobody can hear him, and you can vividly sense his growing feelings of abandonment and betrayal, and the deep, fiery resentment he’s going to feel towards Dean for doing this to him. Especially when he turns around to see Alastair standing there. |

| Jensen Ackles Daily: Avatars? |
|
I need you to help me. I would like to use Avatars in the news posts. Just like you know from places like Livejournal. But the thing is, I don’t want to decide without hearing your voices about it. So now my question is, do you like the look of the posts as it is now or would you like to see a picture before the content of the posts? |

| TV Review: The Rapture |
Spotlight on Castiel shows a new side to the angel and reveals Sam’s secret. This was quite a different episode of SUPERNATURAL. From the perspective as we learned about the sacrifices being made in the battle between Heaven and Hell, particular from the point of Castiel (Mischa Collins), who leaves his host body, Jimmy, in “The Rapture” and gets forced back to Heaven. Jimmy awakens a year after being possessed by Castiel and has one thing on his mind. Seek out his family he left behind after agreeing to become a host vessel for an angel (which we see happen over the course of a number of flashbacks during the episode). And it was a bittersweet reunion with his family tentative of him after a year away but the moments with his daughter and wife were touching and sad given he really didn’t know what he was in for when he signed up for the post, obviously. Of course, once word gets out that an empty vessel is going back home the demons come hunting but luckily Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are searching for Castiel after he escapes them and they arrive just in time to stop the demons from killing Jimmy/Castiel and his family. But when a demon possesses his wife, things change and the Winchester brothers and the former vessel fight to save them. |

| ‘Supernatural’ Video: Has Castiel Been Fired? |
|
Last week Supernatural took a slightly tarter tone after several weeks of quirky, self-referential fun. Given the episode’s premise, I think it was a good compromise for Adam to actually be John’s son, but for him to never appear on camera in his mortal state. The ghoul’s revelation that Adam really was a Winchester was morbid and melancholy but also satisfying. It added to the series’ legacy without screwing up the essential formula. This Thursday Supernatural comes back with “The Rapture,” which looks to continue the series’ return to darker, more through-line oriented stories. But that doesn’t mean the premise won’t have you scratching your chin as you wonder, “How could that happen? What’s really going on here?” According to the CW’s official Supernatural press release, “Castiel (Misha Collins) appears to Dean (Jensen Ackles) in a dream and says he has something important to tell him but they need to meet somewhere private. Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki) go searching for Castiel but instead find Jimmy, Castiel’s human vessel, who has only a spotty recollection of being an angel. Jimmy wants to return to his family and normal life, but Dean and Sam are concerned about his safety.” |

| JENSEN ACKLES Q&A |
|
I’ve discovered another interview of Jensen from this year’s Supernatural con in L.A. Enjoy. JENSEN ACKLES: We are done with season 4. I have one more scene to shoot tomorrow. But that doesn’t really count. It’s second unit stuff. I think it’s our best season. They kind of pulled out all of the stops with this one. With your support we’ve got another one coming. And it’s good to have a job these days. POP CULTURE ZOO: In making up your audition reel what film clips would you use? ACKLES: My entire three years on Days of Our Lives. I don’t know. There are a lot of scenes that are kind of close to me. Obviously the emotional ones are the ones I kind of remember…you put a lot of yourself into them. The scene where Sam is laying on the bed dead and I’m talking to him, telling him that I’m sorry and all that kind of stuff. Kim directed that episode and I remember going up to his office and saying, “I don’t know how many takes I can do. So what are your camera angles, how many shots are you seeing because I don’t know how much gas I’ll have to do this scene more then a couple of times.” And he adjusted his camera angles and closed off the set and kicked everybody out and allowed me to do my thing and it was kind of cool. |

| Supernatural: Papa Winchester Was a Rolling Stone |
|
Without even appearing in the episode, John Winchester made a huge impression on last night’s episode of Supernatural. Unlike Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural doesn’t need Jeffrey Dean Morgan to appear as a ghost to get its point across. Even though Dean was right about John’s long lost son Adam Milligan being a trap, he was also wrong, because it turns out John really did have another kid. Not only did we learn a lot more about John’s secret past, but we learned more about his relationships with his sons. He showered Adam with affection and baseball games not because he loved him more, but because John wanted some level of normalcy, and he knew he could never have that with Sam and Dean after what happened to their mother. John Winchester was fiercely protective, trying to shield Adam from the truth, but in the end, that failed. Adam was killed by a lowly Ghoul because he wasn’t prepared for the world of demons. Sam and Dean, as much as they may resent the life they’ve been given, are only alive because of what John taught them. |
