Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles tops poll to play Captain America

The Coventry Telegraph reports that Ackles won the fan poll by a whopping 39 per cent of the vote…
Next came Channing Tatum and Paul Walker who each had 8 per cent, followed by John Cena (I think that any true comic book fan is hoping and praying that NEVER happens!) with 6 per cent and then Cam Gigandet with 5 per cent. A similar 5 per cent picked ‘other’ and named their choices in the comments section as Nathan Fillion, Sam Worthington and Neal McDonough.

Brad Pitt, Chris Pine and Aaron Eckhart each ended up with 4 per cent of the vote, while Matthew McConaughey, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon and Brendan Fraser had 3 per cent each. Two per cent voted for Eric Dane and just 1 per cent for Jon Hamm and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Among the comments made were that Jensen Ackles was “overlooked and underrated” and deserving of big-screen success, while another voter thought Ackles too “rough” and “battle hardened”.Whilst big names like DiCaprio, McConaughey and Pitt were seen as “too Hollywood.”

Jensen and Jared Definitely In for a Likely ‘Supernatural’ Season 6

Supernatural fans have reason to be excited today.  Even though the premiere of season 5 is far away, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles recently appeared at a European convention where they gave fans a lot of hope for Supernatural season 6.

Some people worried that a sixth season would result in a completely different show, but Jensen confirmed to the Coventry Telegraph that he and Jared both have six-year contracts for the show, meaning if CW president Dawn Ostroff picks up Supernatural for season 6, Sam and Dean will both be in it.

That’s the good news, but here’s the not-so-good news.  While Jensen and Jared have six-year contracts, creator Eric Kripke only has a five-year contract, so if the network does renew Supernatural beyond Kripke’s original five-year plan, there are two options.  The first is for the network to shell out some big bucks to sign him to a new contract.  The second is to continue the show without Kripke.

Notice on Jensen’s personal photos

As you may know, Jensen Ackles Daily used to have an album of personal pictures of Jensen on the gallery. From today on, I will take them down in respect of Jensen’s privacy and because of many complaints I have received over the last couple of weeks from Jensen fans who are – and I support them in any way possible – not happy with the disrespect I may have shown towards Jensen.

I apologize to those who didn’t want these pictures to be online the first place and I also apologize to those (somehow) who want them to be online. I hope you understand. I’m caught in the middle…

Fall TV: Which sci-fi/fantasy series will win, lose, draw?

Supernatural: This series—about two hot guys who drive a hot car and fight demons—has managed to do something shocking: It’s taken the worst timeslot on television (Thursdays at 9 p.m.) and grown in the ratings. Not a lot, but enough. And the new lead-in of The Vampire Diaries might just help it do even better, especially considering that the teen girls who watch will probably stay tuned to see two hot guys who drive a hot car and fight demons. Yes, it’s still up against CBS’ CSI, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and now Fox’s Fringe, but we’re still calling Supernatural a WINNER.
