‘Supernatural’ may not end after seventh season

The CW president Mark Pedowitz has said that he is keen to continue Supernatural past the upcoming seventh season.

It has widely been rumored that the new season would be the last. However, Pedowitz has said that no decision has been made either way.

“It’s not intended to be the last season,” Pedowitz told Entertainment Weekly during a recent press tour.

“We’ll see where the ratings go,” he teased. “We hope the show keeps going.”

The show, which stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, was renewed for a seventh season in April.

Earlier today, The CW announced that it has ordered an additional episode for the new season, bringing the episode count up to 23.

Scoop: The CW Orders Additional Episodes of Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatural and Nikita

The CW is looking to beat the midseason rerun blues by extending the already-full season orders of Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatural and Nikita.

The network has picked up two additional episodes each of Gossip Girl and 90210, bringing their totals to 24 episodes, and one additional episode each of Supernatural and Nikita, extending their runs to 23 episodes apiece.

Notably missing is The Vampire Diaries. That stems from the show’s inability to accommodate additional episodes because of its extensive post-production process. Additionally, exec producer Kevin Willimason already has his hands full shepharding the new CW series The Secret Circle.

Supernatural: The Complete Second Season Blu-Ray Review

Supernatural is just old enough as a television series to have missed the boat on Blu-ray becoming the dominant force for high-definition home entertainment. That’s why the third season was the first to get the Blu-ray treatment. It wasn’t until 2010 that the first season was released, and now with this set, the Supernatural Blu-ray collection is complete. Like earlier editions, the time has not been wasted, as the set includes extensive additional material to make it well worth the upgrade from DVD.

One of the best features of these Blu-ray sets is their interactive “Devil’s Road Map.” As always, this extra packs in hours of entertainment, featuring behind-the-scenes featurettes and interviews with cast and crew of each of the 22 episodes. As many of these interviews were conducted specifically for the Blu-ray set, we get a rare opportunity to hear their take on these earlier adventures from the perspective of looking back after all the kernels laid here culminated in that epic fifth season finale.

‘Supernatural’ season 7: Filming begins July 6

It’s that time of the summer again–time for fall shows to get ready for their upcoming seasons, and that’s the case for the upcoming seventh season of a popular CW drama. A few tidbits have been released about the upcoming season, and it’s time to get ready for more to be released with production beginning.

Season 7 filming

The CW’s Twitter for the show let fans know that “#Supernatural Season 7 Starts Filming Tomorrow!” earlier tonight. The first episode they’ll be filming is the one that Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester, will be directing, tentatively titled, “The Girl Next Door.” That episode is also set to delve into Sam’s past when he ends up running into a girl he saved as a teenager (and yes, Colin Ford is returning). It also sounds like Jim Beaver, who plays Bobby Singer, will be part of that episode, as he sent out some tweets, first on July 1, “If you haven’t ordered my book at www.lifesthatway.com, take your time. I’m off to Vancouver this Tue. to film & can’t sign till I get back,” and “Off to Vancouver.” yesterday. That makes sense since last season, when Jensen Ackles directed, they gave him a Dean-light episode to work with (“Weekend at Bobby’s”), so it sounds like he could have more time to focus on directing yet again, especially with flashbacks to the 15-year-old Sam in the upcoming Supernaturalepisode as well.

What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming Supernatural season 7?
