‘Supernatural’ Video Preview: How Sam Met His Mother

Next week’s Supernatural episode brings back Castiel, Anna and one very cool angel power: time travel. Unlike season 4′s “In the Beginning,” this time both Sam and Dean are traveling back in time to protect Mary and John from an assassination plot to prevent the boys from ever being born.

After coming back from the long winter break, Supernatural has been stuck in stand alone episodes about a psychiatric hospital and body swapping, so it’s good to see the show getting back to the on-going mythology.

It also means we’ll get to see young John and young Mary again, a few years after the events of “In the Beginning.” Check out these two new clips featuring the boys transporting back in time and meeting their young parents.

Video Preview: It’s Like ‘Big,’ Only Bigger

Next week’s Supernatural is sure to be full of comedy as Sam swaps bodies with a nerdy teenage boy. Since Dean is always mocking his little brother for being a nerd, I’m guessing it will take a while for him to catch on.

The CW has released a clip from the episode, titled “Swap Meat,” that should give fans a pretty good taste of what’s to come.

The first thing I notice is that Supernatural is letting Sam play his brain trapped in the boy’s body while guest star Colton James is playing Sam. Body swap movies and TV shows are all different in terms of how they show us who does what. Personally, I think it would be funnier to see Jared Padalecki as the nerdy boy trapped in Sam’s body, but I guess that won’t be as big a part of it as I’d hoped.

On the bright side, we already have a frontrunner for favorite line of next week’s episode: “One leather jacket, one Sasquatch.” Check out the clip:

‘Supernatural’ Video: Sam and Dean Find the Colt

Next week’s episode of Supernatural is the mid-season finale, meaning it will be the last new episode for about two months. Therefore, it’s safe to assume we won’t be watching a lot of silly, pointless comedy. Instead, Supernatural finally gets back to the Apocalypse and Lucifer.

In this video clip from the episode, “Abandon All Hope,” Sam and Dean meet Crowley, the demon Bela gave the Colt to.

Will Sam and Dean shoot Lucifer with the Colt?

  • No, they'll never even fire it at him (33%, 1 Votes)
  • Yes, but Lucifer will stop the bullet (33%, 1 Votes)
  • Yes, and it won't kill him (34%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 3

‘Supernatural’ Early Review: Parodies Make for Great TV

I was hard on “The Curious Case of Dean Winchester,” the latest new episode of Supernatural, because I felt the story and, in particular, the villains didn’t work. An episode needs a strong antagonist, someone viewers can connect with, which is why I was ecstatic that Warner Brothers sent critics an advanced copy of next week’s brand new Supernatural episode, “Changing Channels.”

Like any good fan, I watched it as soon as possible, and while you won’t find any major spoilers in this review, I can tell you that it is, hands down, the best episode of the season. Of course, I’m a little biased.

‘Supernatural’ Video: Grumpy Old Dean

After this week’s painful lack of a new Supernatural, things are looking better with next week’s new episode, which will be the first of four straight new episodes of Supernatural. In “The Curious Case of Dean Winchester,” Dean takes after Brad Pitt’s movie character and becomes a young man trapped in an old man’s body.

As you might expect, comedy ensues. Supernatural is once again going after the comedy, and it seems like there’s more comedy in season 5 than ever before. Every episode features at least some hilarious part, and with Dean as an old man, the jokes are endless.

For example, this video clip from the episode is just over a minute long, but it features three old jokes at Dean’s expense. I suspect there’s plenty more where that came from. For example, I can almost guarantee there will be a joke about a little blue pill.

Jensen Talks About Captain America and Resident Evil

Okay. So I know how if the words Jensen Ackles and Captain America are in the same sentence then the war begins and everyone will post pics and everything. Well, we finally hear about the subject from Jensen Ackles himself!
Well for those (like me) who were for him being the Cap, sad news. He basically says he wouldn’t do it, and he knows “they would not give a role like that to someone from the CW.” And he mentions the Resident Evil rumors as well.
