| EXCLUSIVE: Season Four Could Be Supernatural’s Last! |
|
Please don’t read if you don’t want to get “spoiled”! Despite a powerful boost in ratings this season, Supernatural has not been picked up for a fifth season by the CW. While chatting with the show’s very own Jared Padalecki, who plays demon hunting brother Sam Winchester, it became clear that he was uncertain about the series’ future. No one is positive that Supernatural will be returning next year, and when asked about season four’s finale, he said that it just might be the last we see of Sam and Dean. Everyone on set is hopeful that the popular horror drama, which revolves around two spook-snaring brothers, will continue to thrive. But Padalecki, doing the press rounds for his upcoming horror remake Friday the 13th, said that creator Eric Kripke was indeed preparing a series ending climax that would wrap everything up. Kripke is planning to end it all this spring, but if there is a last minute pick-up, he does have a cliffhanger waiting in the wings that will be added at the last second.
Jared says that if the series continues into a fifth season, it will revolve around Dean’s revelation as an angel. And that season five would for sure be the show’s last. Source: movieweb.com Here another interview with Jared, dishing on what is going to happen! Supernatural‘s Jared Padelecki hints that Sam will dance with the devil Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam Winchester on The CW’s Supernatural, said that he’s sure his demon-hunter character will have to deal with the consequences of using his mystical powers as the current season wraps. “By the end of the season, I’m sure they’re going to do something big, and … —I’m speaking as an audience member—but I’m sure we’re going to see Sam go dark side or get very, very close to going to [the] dark side,” Padalecki said in a group interview on Saturday in Beverly Hills, Calif., where he was promoting his upcoming movie, Friday the 13th. In the current fourth season, it’s been revealed that Sam has developed the ability send demons back to hell with a wave of his hand. He’s also taken up with Ruby (Genevieve Cortese), a demon in human form. This despite warnings from his brother, Dean (Jensen Ackles), that there will be hell to pay if he keeps it up. Padalecki said the show has completed 17 of the season’s 22 episodes. Padalecki admits that series creator Eric Kripke keeps him in the dark about upcoming plot developments. “Sam is definitely getting more into his supernatural abilities, whatever they may … be,” he says, then adds: “Our writer, Kripke, kind of doesn’t let us in on a whole lot. And I’d rather not know, you know? Because I don’t want to worry about it.” A lot depends on whether Supernatural gets picked up for a fifth season, Padalecki says. “I hate it, because we’re on the sort of brink where it’s like, ‘Well, are we going to come back? Do we know if we’re going to come back for another year, or should we wrap it up?’ … That’s where TV is just a pain in the ass, because you’re like, ‘Just tell me how long I have so I know how to tell a story.’ As opposed to ‘Let’s keep asking questions. Let’s keep answering them with more questions.’ I hate it. I hate it. It’s really frustrating. But I’m sure something’ll happen.” Supernatural airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Source: scifiwire.com |

I truly hope it gets picked up for a fifth season. I will be absolutely devastated if this is the final season.

The CW would be totally stupid if they don’t pick up Supernatural for its last season!

I just wanted to say that we dont necessarily know the show will be picked up until sometime in May. Last year they only got an early renewal was because of the writers strike.

BASICALLY WITHOUT SUPERNATURAL AND SMALLVILLE THE CW DOESN’T REALLY HAVE A NETWORK. GOSSIP GIRL IS ONLY GOOD BECAUSE OF ED WESTWICK AND THE DREADFUL 90210 AND SHOWS LIKE THEM ARE JUST SO IRRIATATING. I KNOW THE SHOW HAS TO END EVENTUALLY BUT IT WOULD BE A SHAME FOR A SHOW THAT HAS THE BEST RATINGS IN THE SHOW’S HISTORY TO BE CANCELLED.

exectly! 90210 isn”t as good as most expected! I’m totally disappointed about the show.

Who do we write to to make sure that there are plenty of viewers out here who want a 5th season?
